I kept seeing over and over how steel would make homemade oven pizzas better. I’m a believer. I snagged a 14×22 piece of steel from Etsy (222steel), and it did great compared to the pizza stone.

Thanks for the sub and suggestions.

Awesome! And I am SO jealous!

I received a fantastic steel several years ago for Christmas. Good times making ciabatta, baguette and pizza.

And then my oven died and I had to buy a new one. It’s a HUGE oven, but that turned up edge at the back? Yeah, that danged thing makes my rack to small for my steel.. waah!

I love my steel! I’ve been using it for 15+ years. Wouldn’t get rid of it for anything

  5. Does this make a difference compared to a regularly pizza pan?

He gave my son my 12-in pizza stone and went to a 14×16 carbon steel pizza steel. Fucking awesome! Better heat distribution, and retains temperature better
