From the comforting aroma of pumpkin spice to delicious dishes with pomegranate and apple, fall’s charm has so much to do with a symphony of seasonal ingredients.
Whether you’re entertaining family and friends or creating a dish for a school potluck, the harvest bounty invites us to get together, connect and create a fall feast worth remembering.
Tara Teaspoon, Cookbook Author and former Editor of Martha Stewart Living, joins our Laura Cavanaugh to share some of her favorite harvest season recipes.
One of Tara’s tips is to use seasonal ingredients to add a pop of flavor to every dish. California Pomegranates add color, texture and delicious flavor.
To start a flavorful feast, Tara’s go-to dish is Baba Ganoush with roasted vegetables and pomegranates.
“It’s a great dip for just getting that chatting started with your friends,” said Teaspoon.
Tara’s make ahead go-to side dish is Kale & Butternut Squash with Brown Rice and California Pomegranates.
To elevate your fall feast, Tara says make your main dish the centerpiece of the holiday table. Baked Ham with Pomegranate Glaze is the perfect showstopping centerpiece on the table.
California Pomegranates are versatile. For Taco Tuesday, sprinkle pomegranates on top of Spicy Skirt Steak Tacos. You’ll thank Tara later.
And for a holiday sweet treat, Tara loves sharing Pomegranate Chocolate Clusters, made with melted chocolate, granola and pomegranates in muffin cups.
Pomegranates are a superfood that are rich in Vitamin C, potassium and fiber. They are in season from October through January.
