Haven’t been able to smoke in almost 2 months, went through 2 hurricanes with it covered and opened it up to find this fun little science experiment. Time to let it rip
Cranked it up as high as I could get it, got it up to 650 for an hour and a half

When I smoked some pine wood by accident and coated my bge with pine resin, I did a 2 hours burn at +750. The inside of the egg looked factory new when I was done.
Just be ready to replace gaskets!

Happened to me, now I store it with top and bottom vents fully open – problem solved

Same thing happened to me with me grilla. Same way to fix it too. If a fu gus survives what I did it deserves to inherit the earth.
