Had an incredible and unique chance to try the sushi of Sohshi at a small pop-up he did in Boston. [Sohshi](https://tabelog.com/en/hiroshima/A3401/A340112/34022477/) is rated the top sushi restaurant in Hiroshima on Tabelog (4.12) and apparently has a waiting list of over a year. He’s truly a master of the craft, and was really interesting to have ramen at the end of the meal. Tsurumen is a fantastic ramen restaurant in Boston; seeing both in the kitchen together was a cool experience!

Back in 2007, when I was living in Boston, there were really a few proper Japanese ramen places in the city, maybe only one or two. I frequented a really small stall at the Porter Square, inside of Japanese shopping mall. Seeing there is now an establishment like Tsurumen exists, makes me feel old and nostalgic at the same time.

Interesting that he went so far for a pop up, is he trying to open a store in Boston?
