I haven’t tried many, so I can’t really attest to how well it compares, but I love Churros Calientes on Santa Monica Blvd!

I’ve driven a ways to enjoy some from Churros Calientes (Check out Churros Calientes https://yelp.to/wuv3AbchaK). The food there is really good too. Have you been? It’s not THAT dark of a chocolate but it is damn good.

Another vote for Churros Calientes. Get a cup of hot chocolate to sip as well as the one they give you to dip. Nothing else in town like it. Fabulous, thick, rich, delicious!
Amara cafe in Pasadena is my churro spot but I couldn’t tell you if they were Spanish or Mexican.

I remember our family getting churros when we were little kids in the 60s and early 70s. The best ones we had were either from Olvera Street or on our long family road trips throughout Mexico itself, or even Disneyland. Then I don’t know if people got lazy or what, but it has been hard to find churros that weren’t damp or almost raw in the middle. Mean they don’t have to be crunchy all the way through, but they should be cooked all the way through. I can’t remember being satisfied with a churro since the 70s, so I just don’t buy them anymore. I don’t want to be disappointed, but I might try that place in Pasadena or find a good churro truck and hope for the best. I recently got back from Barcelona about a week and a half ago and one of the things that I wanted to do while I was there was find some good churros. I forgot.

[Gasolina Cafe](https://www.gasolinacafe.com) in Woodland Hills has great Spanish-style churros and is owned by Sandra Cordera, a Spaniard. It’s a little bit of a trek, but being part Spanish myself and having been to Spain, it’s the type of Spanish-influenced food that I adore.

There’s this spot on the West Side. You go into LAX, hop in this little tube and sit for 14 hours or so, get out and ride in a tax to the center of Madrid and bam, delicious Spanish churros.

Not sure if they are Spanish style, but Happy Days Cafe in Sherman Oak has incredible churros. Highly recommend the stuffed churros and waffle churro

Which place has the best Spanish style churros, similar to the ones found in Madrid in Chocolateria San Gines, dipped in dark chocolate?
FYI, I’m not referring to the Mexican variety, which I love (El Moro) as well.

Supposedly Mexico City’s iconic churreria “El Moro” is [opening a couple locations in CA in 2025](https://la.eater.com/2024/10/16/24271911/churros-el-moro-los-angeles-echo-park-opening-santiago-iriarte)
