  1. Good morning! I have frozen blueberries from this summer and a few packets from last summer I want to use before they get too frosty. I had already canned several batches of pie filling and just berries in a light syrup. I was trying to think what to do with the frozen berries to extend their life. This sounds like a great idea! And it could be gifts, too!!! Key learning: I think I’ll only buy one or two flats this coming summer instead of getting so excited about all the berries. 🙂

  2. Good morning! I make blueberry and peach syrup every year, the family loves having options. I would like to expand with other fruits in the future.

  3. I use azure sugar. It is less processed so it is coarser and not white. Have used it for years. I guess im used to it. Its worth getting use to. May not dissolve as fast but does dissolve. No taste difference that i can tell. Hope this helps.

  4. I am thinking this would be a great way to use up apple scraps/peach scraps! Have to wait until next year to try it but very excited!
I need to learn to never start one of your videos until I have a notepad and pencil handy – my stack of Little Hill recipes is growing 😊

  5. I so much prefer the real world kitchen! Please don't change your style of videos. You're authentic self is very informative as well as funny!! 💗

  6. Wow my grandma and mom bever taught me this ..iam going to try this and teach my granddaughter so she can save some money..thanku for teaching me this..and yes please stay as u cause i enjoy ur videos..have a great weekend ❤❤

  7. Good morning! I am enjoying your video on my work break. Thank you for sharing a great way to use an unintended abundance of fruit. When fresh berries are in season I try to take advantage but sometimes I go overboard. Made some raspberry syrup a few weeks ago. Don’t change your channel or the way you do things. I wish we lived closer to each other. It would be fun to can and antique with a like-minded person! Have a great end of your week! 😊

  8. Can you use FD blueberries and blend to a powder and add to your simple syrup with lemon juice to make the syrup?

  9. So just double checking… You don’t have to use the clear gel stuff if you like the consistency of just the sugar and water. Correct??

  10. What do you do with the meat slicer in the background on the counter? Do you make your own sandwich meat or buy it?

  11. How would you store this if you didn’t can it and how long would it be good for? I’ve never canned before but would love to make this syrup.

  12. Love this video! Thank you Ali ♥! I have some frozen blueberries and quite a few frozen strawberries left taking up room in our freezer and I'm about to need tgat room for turkeys and ham. We smoke turkeys for us and family members during the holidays. Yum.
So I hope it was OK that i did 1 pint of blueberries canned in simple syrup with added lemon juice? Will that be ok? I also canned 1 pint that was 2/3 blueberries and 1/3 strawberries in simple syrup as well adding lemon juice to the jar. I've never canned berries or jams until watching your videos. So now I'm thinking my husband would like it more saucy like you did today so I think that's what I will do with the rest of the blueberries and maybe a few of the strawberries.
So my question is will the blueberries and the blueberry strawberry with lemon juice added to jars work with your simple syrup method? Sure hope so because those 2 jars are done. Now off to make sauce/syrup. Thank you Ali for giving me the drive and making rhings look so easy and not so scary!! Thank you ♥!!

  13. We buy our Sucanat sugar from Azure. Love it! It dissolves quickly. Buy a small one first, and then get the 50 lb like us! Also, like you, we moved here to Laurel, MS from the West coast.

  14. Yum! This blueberry syrup looks delicious. I love that you made the syrup instead of jelly or jam. Fruit is so versatile like that.

  15. Hey, Allie. I get 25 lbs of Azure organic raw sugar and I love it. I find that I don’t need as much sugar as when I was buying granulated sugar. The taste is better also. Hey! Wouldn’t it be great if you did a side by side taste test of white granulated sugar and Azure’s organic raw sugar? That would be fun! ❤
