I’ve got this wine cooler but the humidity stays extremely high inside the cooler. We have some older vintages we don’t want to go bad. My concern is does the humidity play a huge part in the preservation and aging. Will this affect the wine or is the temperature control most important. Want to know if it’s ok to keep them in cooler or take out and just keep at room temp?

My hunch is that it will probably damage the label and may allow mold to grow on the cork? I don’t know if either of those are too big of a deal, though. For the actual wine cooler, how old is it? Have the coils been cleaned regularly? Something is off and should be troubleshooted if not already done. Someone with more knowledge, please chime in!

Are you sure your hygrometer is working correctly?

Yes I had 2 in there and they both read the same. Also used it in my house and it match the climate control reading for my house. Thanks

I wonder if the hygrometer/humidity reader is off on your device. 99% seems absurd, no? Is the cooler filled with condensation, moisture and/or mold? Is there a way to reset your device, or add another device in there to verify?

  5. I have a hard time believing your hygrometer is reading correctly but I’d also be somewhat impressed if it was correct. 99% humidity would absolutely destroy your labels and cause major mold problems.
