I love bamboo and mushrooms or bamboo and pakchoi but its just veggies and I’m scared of being weird ordering just that. I went to this place already and they put so much oil and condiments so idk what to get, tofu with chives or stewed tofu sounded good too

I don’t really know these dishes but I think I’ve heard that miso is low in calories. As a long time mostly vegan it’s pretty normal to just get veggies if u want to. Miso soup + the veggies u were taking about would probably b pretty low in calories and hopefully my comment can boost ur post so someone more familiar w the dishes can chime in!
Also tofu is pretty low in cals and has protein!
Are you sure the miso soup is vegan? My stepmom is japanese and sometimes the miso contains fish in it somehow (i can’t remember which ingredient though). Nevermind though if this restaurant makes a vegan miso soup though. The lotus root looks very low calorie since it has chili sauce on it and probably vinegar instead of oil. I would go with the lotus root salad and miso soup. It will be light but filling with the soup. Hopefully you get to have some good cake later.
