Hey fellow ice cream enthusiasts! 👋

I’ve been eyeing an ice cream maker for a while and just stumbled across this Whynter 2-Quart Compressor Ice Cream Maker on sale at Costco: Link.

It looks super convenient since it doesn’t need pre-freezing (built-in compressor = game-changer?), and it also doubles as a yogurt maker. For those of you who’ve made homemade ice cream, do you think this is a good buy? Or should I go for something else?

Appreciate any advice or personal experiences you can share. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I have one for about 2years and love it!! It takes about 25 minutes to make some delicious treats!!
That’s a good price. The things I don’t like about it it’s big and heavy.

I have that model and I’ve been very happy with it. I just wish it came with an extra canister so I could do back-to-back batches without having to wash a freezing canister first.

I personally love my ninja creami, and recommend it in your price range, but it’s a different concept entirely. Avoid the creami subreddit though, they have a peculiar idea of what entails ice cream and will provide some very funky recipes.

I’m debating this too, but am concerned about the size as I have limited storage

I found one at an estate sale a month ago and, after using the Cuisinart churner that one had to stick in the freezer, it is magical! Highly recommend it.

What is the price at Costco? I’ve had my eye on that same machine on Amazon.
