My mom calls these pecan cocoons bc she makes them in a vague cocoon shape instead of moons. Idk why she does it that way but they still taste delicious if you can get past the mental image of eating a cocoon😅

These look awesome- such a perfect shape!! They also look like the Greek “kourabiethes”- my mum was the best at making those (everyone said so, not just me ☺️). She never used a recipe though- just went “use your eyes/feel with your hand how much (if the ingredient) you need” so unfortunately mine were never as good as hers and the recipe went with her.

A pecan cookie coated in powdered sugar sounds a lot like Mexican wedding cakes (also called Russian tea cakes). I usually make them into round balls though, not crescents.
