We called them walnut horns! Obviously depends on what you used for nuts.

My mom calls them moon cookies and makes them with walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds. They look absolutely delicious! 🤤

My mom calls these pecan cocoons bc she makes them in a vague cocoon shape instead of moons. Idk why she does it that way but they still taste delicious if you can get past the mental image of eating a cocoon😅

These look awesome- such a perfect shape!! They also look like the Greek “kourabiethes”- my mum was the best at making those (everyone said so, not just me ☺️). She never used a recipe though- just went “use your eyes/feel with your hand how much (if the ingredient) you need” so unfortunately mine were never as good as hers and the recipe went with her.

I heard them called wedding cookies growing up. My neighbor made these for me every Christmas

A pecan cookie coated in powdered sugar sounds a lot like Mexican wedding cakes (also called Russian tea cakes). I usually make them into round balls though, not crescents.

I grew up calling them almond crescents! Those are the best

  8. These are called sniffle snoffles in my family.

    No joke.

I used to make them all the time. Mine were walnut crescents. I think it was from a NYT recipe.

Almond crescents in my family (and we usually dip one end in melted chocolate!)

We called these Kifflings in our family and we always made them with almonds. My favorite holiday cookie.

We call them putri salju “Snow White/Snow Princess” cookies in Indonesia!
