Picked up my first offset to compliment my WSM, Masterbuilt Gravity 900, gas flattop and wood fired pizza oven!!! I feel like my arsenal is almost completed.

I scored this used once for $300, made a cpl quick mods with an old loaf pan and oven pan! Looking forward to mastering this unit and expanding my BBQ skills!!!

How do you compare the offset with the masterbuilt gravity? I currently have a Blackstone and kamado Joe. I’ve been wanting an offset for a year, but then discovered the masterbuilt gravity like 4 months ago. The gravity 1050 is marked down locally to $450. Im debating getting that instead of a traditional offset. It seems like the gravity should function like a normal offset, but also has the benefit of a blower, to maintain temperatures easier.

    Thoughts?

You should make a vertical baffle and woth some holes to ot even out your cook chamber. Right now you’re probably going to have hot spot dead center if the grate.

I would make it vertical baffle with a fews holes to start and see if that help get your temp even across the grate. Since you own a masterbuilt you know top temperature gauge isnt accurate and you will need to have atleast 1 external probe near the stack and firebox side.
