It doesn’t seem to be mold. Doesn’t smell off/bad. It’s on the outside and goes through the stem. Could it be from cold weather?

    That is called Blackleg, it’s a fungal disease.

    To prevent blackleg on broccoli plants, try doing companion planting with mint and encourage the presence of predatory trichogramma wasp.

    Nearly all the commercial broccoli I have bought the last months has this. I cut out the obvious bits and have eaten the rest with no Ill effects

    Lol omg I’m that person.. I cannot get mint to grow.. I’m sure my seeds are duds. I bought one and it died.. my mom.. who lives 3 hours away has it grow wild by her parking area.
