Lived in Portland OR fifteen years ago and my roommate ‘invented’ the creme brulee doughnut. He would wake up at like 4am, make a horrific mess in the kitchen, and then deliver his creation to a snumber of local breakfast places. He almost made it on Canada’s breakfast nightmares. Long story long nice guy but gaddamm did it bring rats, lots of rats to our house. I’m the night you could hear them just scratching.
