So this was posted a few days ago:

And I decided to actually make it, but with some guess work and modifications. I couldn’t find any specifics on the proportions, or how it’s actually prepared as in a recipe. So I pretty much just prepared it with some extra things like veggie stock, a bit of oil and butter to cook down the potatoes, and some salt and spices I thought would “fancy it up” a bit for the family to enjoy more. (A side of asparagus and some cranberries are not a part of the main salad.)

I crushed the kale with olive oil, Bragg’s liquid aminos, lemon juice, and red wine vinegar, all to act as sort of a dressing.

The jist of it is, this salad is designed to sustain astronauts on a long mission to Mars. These ingredients not only ideal in covering all of the nutritional basics one would need for health and sustenance, but they’re also all able to be grown in space with minimal water and resource requirements I think. The main ingredients are: Soybeans, poppy seeds, barley, kale, peanuts, sunflower seeds, sweet potato.

I thought it would still come out pretty plain, but actually everyone loved it! It tasted like a superfood, was quite filling, and I gave it just enough additional spices and stuff to keep it savory but not overloaded with additional flavors.

10 out of 10 would recommend!
