Big floral and fruit on the nose.
Palate was fruit forward, but felt a little muddied. Tended toward black fruit, but possibly a bit medicinal. Had strong leather (very nice), and a little earth. Alcohol was a bit strong, but the pre-dinner Seder lasted a while, so it was admittedly probably too warm.
Paired with Moroccan-spiced braised beef and of course matzah ball soup. The matzah ball soup actually brought out some nice pepper notes (assuming from the Syrah).
A little astringent, but it had a nice, long finish.
Good bottle for the biblically-mandated four glasses. Nothing life-changing, but a fun one to try out. The father-in-law (big Malbec drinker) sure liked it.
