I’ve been wanting to try this place since they opened. It’s a well-known chain from Japan. Overall I think they do a great job but it’s definitely pricey.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of their ramen. The broth was full-bodied, noodles were thick and wavy (although slightly overcooked for my taste), the egg was perfect, and the pork slices were absolutely delicious. Even the menma was high quality. All in all it was one of the best bowels of tonkotsu I’ve had in LA (and also the most expensive).

Their gyoza were a huge disappointment though. Usually ramen shops make the best gyoza but not here. These were presented in a gimmicky fashion and brought out on a sizzling platter. The gyoza themselves were way too doughy and the filling texture was undeveloped. They’re pan fried but not crispy at all. Do yourself a favor and skip the gyoza. I would try their buns or wings next time. Those actually looked good.

The desserts here all seem to be excellent. The “Tokyo Banana” I got was delicious. It’s basically a banana pudding with brûléed banana on top. I highly recommend. Their kakigori (shaved ice) desserts definitely looked amazing too. I’m definitely getting one of those next time.

To sum up, I would say this is one of the better ramen shops in LA but the prices are pretty steep. This isn’t your typical casual neighborhood ramen joint though. You’re paying for quality, ambiance, and a full bar with good cocktails here. You’d probably spend just as much or more for any nice dinner in this neighborhood.

Street parking or valet ($10) only, credit card only in the restaurant. I counted around 14 bar seats with full food service outside their main dining room. Lunch and dinner served. Their lunch sets look more reasonably priced.

    Edit: tonkotsu, not tonkatsu

Food looks great. Just a simple clarification. I think you mean tonkotsu ramen. Tonkatsu is a breaded deep fried pork cutlet.

    Edited spelling

I totally agree that the gyoza was a major disappointment. Next time try the matcha shaved ice!

I loved this place! I haven’t tried the gyoza but the ramen and kakigori are my favs.
