I was one of the earliest buyers of 1zpresso. There were only 2 models, I got the one that became known as the Q, the basic one. The other model (which is discontinued) was a ridiculous price, like $300(?) so I didn’t even consider getting it from a then unknown brand.

This is as much as I can shove my phone in without removing the burr completely. I can see further in and all the burr grooves that I can see are fine. The machine finishes of the flat non-grinding surfaces are rough though and it doesn’t look like they polished them, but these have no bearing on the grind. The burr material looks different from https://www.reddit.com/r/Coffee/comments/13fc2ci/1zpresso_jxpro_burrs_after_12_months, of which my post is a follow up on. Maybe they started using a cheaper material. Anyway, my burrs are still fine after 3 years. I’ve considered upgrading to a bigger grinder several times, but I’m satisfied with mine and if it ain’t broken, why replace it?

Grey dot Pro with silver burrs. Looks good to me.

But looking closely at yesterday’s black burrs vs my sliver burrs, I’d say that they are completely different.

So different that I’m not sure that yesterday’s OP has a real JX-Pro, or 1zpresso has totally changed the burrs in the last year.
