Of all the amazing doughnut places in LA we have, you choose yum yum? I’m not above a cheap doughnut, but yum yum is spread out everywhere and is about the worst of the chain doughnut spots. The local mom and pop doughnut shops still win without reaching into the Sidecar/Oliboli price tiers

Got food poisoning from Yum Yum. Haven’t been back since and that was 7 years ago.

Lot of haters here, but I get better donuts/service at my local yum yum than I do at Randy’s donuts

I go to Yum Yum probably once a month and I’ve been going for years. I like the fact they make apple fritters that are decent in a small size that satisfies my craving without going overboard with carbs or calories as from having the full sized one. As a chain Yum Yum is not gourmet, but I think they prices are lower than my other favorite which is California Donuts next to Koreatown. Yum Yum is also cleaner and change their donut frying oil more frequently than some of the mom and Pop Asian run donut shops.

Generally you don’t get food poisoning from donuts, did you order a breakfast sandwich or something else to get food poisoning? I haven’t had food poisoning at all variety of restaurants even good ones from time to time it depends on if they have may be left food out for too long or used ingredients that were starting to go bad or whatever and it can happen to any restaurant not just Yum Yum donuts. Randy’s is good but I don’t think it’s worth driving in the long distance for. Ditto for the Donut Man at Grand Central Market.

There’s a yum yum in Detroit and it’s the best I’ve ever had in donuts!

I personally like the mom and pop donuts more, my neighbor owned a Yum Yum donuts shop and sometimes would give us box of donuts for free couple times a week, there good also, quick fact: My mothers first job in the states fresh from El Salvador was at a Wenchills on Vine St in Hollywood Ca

Forget the pretentious haters. Yum Yums is solid.

I honestly can’t tell the difference between this and 99% of all the other local donut shops. I’m convinced they all source from the same dough and glaze vendor delivered every morning out of Commerce.

Obviously not the best donuts in LA, but it’s always been a solid late night option when it’s on my way home and Donut Hut is too far out of the way. Their quesadilla bread is pretty legit.

It’s the best of the chain options for sure. Winchell’s & Dunkin’s are garbage in comparison, awful texture, they always seem like stale leftovers from the day before.

Easily the worst donut place whose donuts I regularly eat. But, I still eat them all the time, so I guess they get the last laugh.

If you’re ever near a Sidecar hit it up
