I tried their Golden Kome Miso Special.

Their miso soup had an interesting blend of sweetness and saltiness. It was rich from the miso and could also be adjusted to your preference by requesting more broth (in case you found it too overwhelming). I found it perfectly fine as it was. The level of saltiness was a little more than the sweetness, which I think I prefer more. The consistency was a bit on the thinner side which I didn’t really expect for a miso ramen, although not too thin either. Temperature was nice and hot as well.

Nothing too special about the noodles. They did their job and did not clump up. The medium-thin thickness was good too. Texture wise they weren’t hard nor soft.

A bit of a sweet and smoky taste came from the chashu’s caramelization. It was tender but not melt-in-mouth tender, yet it could also be described as a little dry. It had a dark shoyu taste to it and maybe even a bit of a gamey taste as well. The size of it was one of the larger and thicker pieces (not as thick as Oji Seichi) I’ve ever seen, although to be fair… my bowl only came with one slice.

The egg was cold with a faint sweetness from the yolk. Not much flavour and perhaps even a little dry(?).

The bamboo shoots were very varied in texture. Some were soft. Some were crunchy. Very odd…

My favourite miso ramen so far I would say although maybe I’ll like their miso-tonkotsu blend more.
