1. In a pan, combine the sugar, cream, golden corn syrup, and butter. 2. Cook the mixture until it reaches 255°F (124°C). 3. Add the hot cream and bring the mixture back to 235°F (113°C). 4. Whisk in the vanilla extract. 5. Let the caramel cool for about 15 minutes until it thickens.

Step 2 – The bark:
1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) 2. Grease and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 3. If you’re using nuts, bake your favorite nuts for 10-15 minutes, then let them cool down. 4. Melt the chocolate with the butter. 5. Spread about 2/3 of the melted chocolate mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. 6. Sprinkle the nuts or pretzels all over the chocolate. 7. Gently press the nuts or pretzels down into the chocolate. 8. Pour the warm caramel on top, making sure it touches each nut or pretzel 9. Add the remaining melted chocolate on top. 10. Sprinkle a generous amount of sea salt over the bark. 11. Let the bark set completely for 1-2 hours. 12. Cut it into pieces and enjoy!

*The chocolate will start to get white after a couple of days, but it is still equally good 🙂
