This has not been pollinated! The flower will open in what looks like a couple days. It will only be open until around noon. Once the flower has closed it will be somewhat twisted on the end. That is how you know it hasn’t opened. The flower will also be bright yellow. Not green. I hand pollinate all of mine.

That is an unpollinated female flower. It hasn’t even opened yet. The female flowers will have a baby squash at the base, that will get larger even if not pollinated, but will turn yellow and rot. Male flowers will just have a stem. Once it opens it will be about 3″-4″ across.

I’m embarrassed that I have no idea how garden pollinators work
