I did have a problem with potato bugs I pretty quickly stamped out. It’s also been an extremely Rainy and cloudy summer here. They did not flower.

Maybe blight? Or they could just be coming to an end.

    When did you plant them?

Probably just the end of the road for them. It looks like you may have a little bit of blight but nothing too serious.

Potatoes don’t always bloom and still produce tubers of when they don’t bloom.

It’s a 50/50 whether mine ever flower, so I just go by life cycle of foliage. Once it’s all dead they are ready to pull. Some wait a week or two after all growth has died.

I see a little blight, but given your planting date they are likely just running out of gas and maturing as the days shorten. Could be some verticillium that’s contributing but hard to say without knowing more about your soil (rotation, native nematode species, fertility levels).

I grow potatoes year round and I have only had them flower once. They look like they’re just ready to be harvested. I’ve noticed if you let the stocks turn too yellow bugs show up and start munching on the taters so you might want to dig one up for a quality check soon.

That soil does look a bit wet too. I would suspect that you need better drainage.

It’s normal, they are ready to harvest. Plus, you have enough time to plant some daikon radishes.

    Good harvest!

Too much rain? That’s been an issue for me this year. There is too much rain, not enough time to dry out before the next rain hits. Lots of my potatoes ended up rotting.
