I used whole milk for this, but you can use nondairy milk, apple juice or water if you prefer.

Cut up an apple into pieces 1/2 inch in size, sauté in a frying pan with about half a tablespoon of honey and an ounce of walnuts. I added nutmeg, but you can also add cinnamon if you like it. Once they start browning, cover with a lid and reduce heat to low, cooking until tender.

In the meantime, put 1 cup of milk or other liquid in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add 20-28 grams of semolina (more will make a thicker texture, less will be more liquidy so pick what you like). Mix the semolina into the milk until there are no lumps and return to a low fire. Cook until it starts to boil while mixing and then cook until thickened to your preference.

Pour porridge into a bowl and top with the apple walnut mixture and enjoy!
