Without a doubt, the best overall restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Restaurant was fully booked on a weekday lunch service, so I was very lucky to get a solo reservation in the first place.
Everything was just right… the setting (former military hospital chapel), the ambience (decorations, semi open kitchen), the delicious food (heavy focus on seafood), the service was excellent as well. Very friendly staff, very attentive, while the waiters kept changing from course to course they kept notes on our brief chats before/after courses so that there was no big “break”, I was surprised that even the head chef asked me (when going through the restaurant at the end of service) about an music festival I was planning to attend to a couple of days after (actually the reason I was in Belgium in the first place)…. a detail I just mentioned briefly to the reception staff and first waiter when entering the restaurant.
Music was really really really cool as well, throughout service there was light ambient/lounge music (which I’m a big fan of). Interesting contrast to the old church setting, volume was just right that it enhanced the setting without it being the main focus.
Without a doubt, I will visit again.
frerant
Kinda sad I hadn’t heard of this place earlier. It looks incredible and creative, love the touches like the stained glass window.

Visited “The Jane” in Belgium in June.
