Recipe is fairly basic for most soups I make. Sauté some onion and garlic, carrots and celery. Toss in potatoes, cook down for a few minutes. Add a cup of lentils and enough water to cook them plus some (I typically add about 4ish cups of water.) I add bullion paste to my water, otherwise add stock or broth instead of water. Add in your seasonings, cook lentils as directed. By the time they’re done, everything should be cooked or close. Continue simmering until it’s all done, adjust seasonings to taste. Seasonings I use for stews include: garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper, thyme and rosemary plus a bay leaf or two. Very occasionally I’ll add a small splash of soy sauce to deepen the flavor.
