Sorry if this is the wrong sub. My mother in law made this canned, strawberry jam. When I opened the top, it popped, so I believe it was sealed well, but I don’t know if these white stringy looking things are fibers from the fruit or a mold. Thank you!

Those are the strawberries.

It’s from the fruit, it would be obvious if it were mold
MiL uses a potato masher rather than something like an immersion blender.
That can sometimes happen depending on the variety of strawberry used and their ripeness. Absolutely nothing to worry about – enjoy the jam from your MIL!
