Ingredients:

To recreate this Chicago-style Joey Dog at home, you’ll need the following ingredients:

* Fresh rosemary
* 5 to 6 medium-sized potatoes
* 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
* 1 teaspoon of salt
* 1/2 tablespoon of oil
* Beef sausages
* Hot dog buns
* 1 cup of Garlic Aioli
* 1 tablespoon of wasabi
* Tabasco sauce

Step 1: Begin by chopping fresh rosemary finely. Set it aside as we’ll be using it to season our fries post-cooking.

Step 2: Peel and slice 5 to 6 medium-sized potatoes into fry-sized strips. Cutting them lengthways first, then again lengthways will give you the perfect fry shape.

Step 3: Season your fries. Add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 tablespoon of oil to the bowl of potatoes. Mix it all together, ensuring every fry is coated with the seasoning.

Step 4: Place your seasoned fries in the air fryer. Set the temperature to 170 degrees Celsius or 340 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for 15 minutes. Shake the fries halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Step 5: After the first 15 minutes, return the fries to the air fryer at 195 degrees Celsius or 385 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for another 10 minutes.

Step 6: Add beef sausages to the air fryer tray and cook for 10 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius or 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 7: For the garlic wasabi aioli, mix together 1 cup of Garlic Aioli and 1 tablespoon of wasabi.

Step 8: Once the sausages are cooked, remove them from the air fryer and add to the hot dog buns. Pile on the fries and top with the garlic wasabi aioli. Add a dash of Tabasco sauce for an extra kick.

Conclusion:

This Joey Dog recipe is a testament to the unique and rich culinary scene of Chicago. It’s an everyday meal that doesn’t shy away from bold flavors, making it perfect for those seeking to bring a bit of gourmet flair to their home cooking.
