Aside from the metal wisk in the nonstick pan, this looks awesome. Maybe I’m desensitized to pizza crimes at this point but I’ve come to see a lot of them as just using pizza crust as a topping delivery system and not actual pizzas. That yeasty, crispy, chewy dough is a perfect compliment to so many things, it makes sense to use it in other contexts. I only really think it’s a crime if there is a strong similarity to classic pizza with horrendous additions, like a regular marinara and mozzarella pie with banana, canned peas, and mayo or something like that. Even dessert pizzas are cool if there isn’t a two inch thick layer of nutella and condensed milk falling off.

Technically a pizza crime but god damn that gumbo color was just fucking on point. I’d try this without hesitation based on the cooking technique. Flavors look well developed.

I have much less of a problem with this than most, I’m not sure I’d want shrimp as a topping at all and I personally strongly prefer pizzas to have a standard tomato sauce.
But the major crime here to me is one of the most common pizza crimes, too heavy on the toppings. Both in total quantity and amount of different ones. I get that for the type (gumbo) it’s kind of a necessity to have all of that, but it’s just gonna be a heavy soggy mess.
Just let gumbo be gumbo and have a nice bread on the side or something.
